OKAY. SO. CONVENTIONAL WEAPONS FEELS.

mistresscurvy:

Part of me can’t believe that I never actually posted any of my feels about Conventional Weapons: Number One, but then I remember that those songs came out in Europe like three days before Hurricane Sandy hit, and since then there has been A LOT OF SHIT GOING ON. SO. I had basically taken like three weeks to really process Boy Division and Tomorrow’s Money, and then OUT OF NOWHERE we got recordings of Number Two last night. And getting to hear two more of the Lost Songs has really crystalized a lot of my thoughts about the sound, and why none of them fit on an album, either on the first attempt of Album Four or Danger Days itself.

(…I tried to actually organize my thoughts, and have like almost a THESIS ARGUMENT or some shit? And oh boy did I ever FAIL, this is like seven essays all smushed together. SORRY. I TRIED.)

“There’s definitely a trashy, x-rated vibe to our live set. It’s mainly to put off homophobes, but also because as seriously as you take this, you can’t take yourself that seriously. So it’s like aggressive, soft-core gay porn. There’s a little man love, mainly some smooching, definitely some crotch grabbing. I definitely used to fuck the monitors.” - Gerard Way
